Question F10 Front Camera Retrofit Inquiry (Complete the 360° View)

Does anyone know where I can find information to add a front camera for an F10 to convert the 270° (5DL Option, Image 1) to complete 360° view like the F15 (image 2)?

The front side-view cameras good for cross traffic blindspots (image 3), but useless for protecting front sports lip. My F15 has one but it is higher up and does not really need it as much.

I attached Rheingold pdf on the F15 camera. I am not sure what else I would need or where to get.

I found front cameras and media interfaces on Ebay as well as Bimmertech Solutions, but wondering if anyone attempted an OEM integration.

I spent time looking for this solution before but I didn't get any. I will pay $$$ to have this feature particularly if the same front camera can be used as a "dash" cam at the same time.

Camera is #1 in diagram.

On ebay, a new OEM camera only is $339.61; used is $210.

I am still unsure of additional needed wiring and whether ECU would have to be switched to accept.

I have found non-OEM cameras with rotating capability for $15-20, but looks like I would need $200-400 multimedia interface and use up one of the hotkeys to enable.

For front dash cam, I would think Bimmertech Smartview type solution and cam with wifi would work better.

Bumping this as there are $115 360° aftermarket kits that I can add into the GF's E61 since I'm installing an AVIN stereo into her car.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/312009376079

I'd like to add a front camera to make it a complete 360° to my E70 X5M but I can't see spending more than $50 on one camera when it's a hair over $100 to add 4 to hers.

"Call for pricing" AKA prepare for a sales pitch before being bent over. I've seen 4 camera kits for as little as $130 (I'm sure there are more stealthy ones for a fraction more) on eBay, the question is how to incorporate them into the factory screen or an aftermarket unit like AVIN.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/232589207471

Interesting. They used to list prices.

Basic camera is high, but not bad; problem is additional multimedia unit to interface with HU.

Almaretto - did you ever figure this out? I actually registered so I could try to contact you. I am in the Bay Area and was curious what you wound up doing for a front view camera setup. I just picked up a 2016 535 and it has all the surround view, but not the front. Seems like bimmertech's kit with a multimedia interface is the only real option?

There are multiple aftermarket solutions. I never found OEM solution.

Then you're probably looking at a universal/generic system that will have to be integrated into the stock system. Unless you get a stand-alone camera & display system.

To my knowledge cars with NBT EVO can have 360 degrees surround view while regular NBT can have surround view with front camera part missing and there are dark lines between cameras. Bimmertech MMI unit offers front camera retrofit (along with wireless Apple carplay) for NBT units but it is not a cheap solution. Cost of retrofitting NBT EVO is about the same as Bimmertech MMI unit and front view camera. Main advantage of Bimmertech MMI unit is if you go do dealer and dealer needs to update your software, it can be done with Bimmertech MMI unit since you still have your original NBT unit, while that is not possible with NBT EVO retrofit since it is not a part of config that came with the car.

I'm camera shopping but this looks like a good option. Is it possible to integrate with the existing 360 system or would it always need to be independent and work off the aftermarket CarPlay unit?
