Curious, where did you find the information that MHD is a better flash tune for the 2011? Thanks

i bought mine from here for only $256 free shipping

if you go under the engine, transmission under the technical threads there's lots and lots of threads that discuss MHD and Bootmod in regards to being a better flash tune

I was looking at a few threads comparing the two and it seems like in the early days BM3 didn't know that early F10 didn't come with a drivemode switch and our N55 is a E90 spec one over the later N55 revisions "made for F series". MHD has spent a lot more time on the E90 N55 map and revisions for the early F10. Both tunes are probably good but I feel like after reading everything that MHD has a slightly better tune. This is m first performance mod on any car I have ever owned so take my words with a grain of salt. I am looking for drive-ability and reliability over all out performance.

I took my E90 to the Pocono mountains this weekend and I miss my F10. It should be done Monday or Tuesday from the body shop!

Hmm, I remember emailing MHD about 2 years ago and they didn't support our early ECU software regardless of our engine being PWG while Bootmod3 already had a version out. I also wonder if both of the tuners are just e90 based, which I wouldn't want due to the intake being different. I'm on the fence of which one to get, but like I can add just $50 for all the OTS tunes from bootmod3 which includes their mild transmission tune.

I bought my bumper from Kies and I am happy with the outcome... I didn't have to swap the foam or anything just the bumper itself.

I bought the same brand bumper as the Kies one on eBay. It fit with my original foam. For another $80 for the "correct" foam is not that big of a deal.

Absolute Fire

I am going to let the bumper cure for a week inside and then fully mount it. I added up everything and I am a hair under $14k all into the car. Hopefully the cat will clear out and the evap leak is cheap to fix. I am at about the max I want to be into a car at this time.

It is the BMS one. Honestly next time I would have rather saved $50 and get it straight from eBay. This is the same pipe as the ebay ones without any instructions or any BMS branding in the box. Not even a pack slip.

I can’t wait until the rest of the parts for my bumper come so I can finally enjoy my car for a little bit. I am holding off on dropping another $400 on the MHD tune for a while to let my wallet recover from the unexpected items that came up on the initial sorting. I am at $14.2k into the car now and I am going to easily be $15k into the car all said and done. This is a good lesson to anyone looking to buy any old BMW. Make sure you budget a few thousand to sort the car afterwards. If I get a chance I will write a buyers guide for the F10 like I did with the E90.

Yeah. Anyone purchasing an older Bmw should have something extra set aside. Be it repairs maintenance or upgrades. But hey. For $15k. You're at 25% if not less than for a new one. And it's beats the heck out of driving a boring new Camry.

There is a pretty good oil leak coming from the top of the engine and dripping down to the rear of the oil pan. The dealer noticed this and said that when they did the vanos bolt job they would replace the valve cover gasket and this would fix the issue. To me it looks like the leak is still there. I did my rear diff fluid and saw a little bit of a seep from the passenger side axle seal. I attempted one last time and I could not get the front dif fill bolt out. I am going to let a shop replace the front dif fluid.

I coded my normal transmission as the sport transmission.

When I am backing up at idle speed I notice a bit of a choppy idle. I think I still have a vacuum leak or something somewhere.

15k including the initial purchase price of the car right?

I have a choppy idle forwards and reverse. Kinda like a lurching feeling. Only on a roll. No gas no brake

Nice! So you just had a weak motor, no other issues? Mine goes up but sticks when going down unless I push the arms in while someone pushes the switch.

That is how my sunshade was before. The motor is just weak and needs to be replaced.

A few days ago I finally got my new bumper on and I am blown away by how much it transforms the car. It is such a great deal at $350 on eBay.

I drove over 300 miles this weekend and everything seems to be running good. My cats passed the OBD readyness monitor but now my evap system does not pass. I want to buy a smoke machine and test for evap and vacuum leaks before the end of the summer.
