Does anyone have the Route 66 extended warranty?

Everytime someone asks about an extended warranty the general consensus is that Route 66 is the way to go. However I do not recall seeing a response from anyone that actually had one of their policies. I am interested to know what the cost was, miles, term, coverage, etc and of course what your car was at the time you bought the policy.

Mine just expired due to mileage. I purchased it at 45k miles and have since passed the 100k mark. Never had an issue with them, and they covered any repair that qualified for coverage. The only item I had to pay out of pocket were a few diesel emissions related repairs. I would recommend their policy.

Here was my quote when I signed up in 2017. 2013 535i with 45k miles. Coverage for 5 years or 100k miles on the odometer $2706. Haven't had to make a claim yet, the car's been trouble-free.

Thanks for the feedback. I had looked on their website and found my old credit union sold the polices. I stopped on the way home from work. For my 2016 550i with 39180 miles and still under factory warranty I was able to get the easy street (top level) $0 deductible, 5yr/up to 100k miles, with electronics coverage for $2295. Bought it on the spot as it was less than half what Mercury wanted for same coverage. Definitely gives me piece of mind as I pay off the cpo over the next 3 years... and i dont have to worry that i drive it like i stole it...

A few things I noted, they will only cover BMW 1,3,5 series. No 6,7,8 or X,Z, or M. BMW, Volvo, Merc, Cadillac, hummer and V10 or a diesel costs $550 more. Also no coverage for Audi, Corvette, Porsche, Saab, Jag, Merc AMG, exotics... (got a pic of the policy/ coverage sheet).

Here is what Route 66 offered for my 2012 BMW 535i at 36k miles:

7yr or 120k miles = $2,648
7yr or 100k miles = $2,478
7yr of 75k miles = $2,378
6yr or 120k miles = $2,598
6yr or 100k miles = $2,458
6yr or 75k miles = $2,358
5yr or 120k miles = $2,538
5yr or 100k miles = $2,378
5yr or 75k miles = $2,298

I went with the 7yr/120k miles and just submitted a claim with them today for an OFHG change at the dealership. I only had to pay for oil, filter, and taxes.

When they say 7 years do they mean 7 years from in service date or 7 years from purchase of warranty?

Also, how many miles max can you have on the car before you purchase the warranty?

- 7 years from purchase of warranty

- Depends on the model and year and mileage

They offer better/longer coverages the newer your car is as well as if it is still under factory warranty (4yr/50k miles from in service date for BMW.)

I had no issues with Route 66…they covered my front control arms, rear diff bushings, and my ofhg. I did it all at the dealer

Pros:
My BMW service advisor said they were the best warranty company he's dealt with.
They've paid over $10k on my 2013 535i. Valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, rear differential, turbo pressure converter, etc.

Con: If I have another claim I'll probably be near the "total payments versus blue book value" cap on my 8-year-old car (which every warranty probably has). But better than if would have had to pay all that out-of-pocket.

Does anyone know if Route 66 uses/approves OEM replacement parts?

My experience with Route 66.

I purchased my 15 BMW 550i xdrive w/70k miles back October '20. Two months later the transmission needed to be replaced then the drive shaft snapped 2 mos after that. Filed a claim, they sent out an adjuster to confirm that a replacement was required, then the agent reached out to me to let to me know the claim was approved for max payout and provide me with the BMW Remanufactured transmission INSTEAD of used transmission around the same mileage that is being replaced.

BMW Remanufactured OEM Trans - $9293.12
Fluids and other miscellaneous I covered.

BMW OEM Drive shaft - $3300
$0 OOP for me

Just to be clear. I provided the following experience to help fellow members hoping to help them find the answers to the questions about the following warranty company. By any means, I have no affiliation with Route 66 nor trying to promote their business...Thank You
