A quick glance at the Rupes Coarse Wool Pads - Kills Swirls Fast!

Rupes Blue Coarse Wool Pads - Kills Swirls Fast

So a few months back Rupes announced their new wool pads, the blue coarse wool pad and the yellow medium wool pad.

On this post I would like to talk specifically about the new blue coarse wool pad. At first glance when you open the bag and you touch and feel the pad it resembles a microfiber pad, the coarse wool pads are short "haired" which is not like your traditional wool pad. I was never a fan of the traditional wool pads, probably because I could never finish it down well. I am however a fan of microfiber pads, Meguiar's and the Uro MF.

I didn't expect much of the wool pads but figured I would give it a try using them with Rupes Zehpir Gloss Compound and Rupes Keramik Gloss Polish (figuring Rupes would have done extensive testing with their own products ensuring best results.) Using the Compound and Polish from Rupes we got some incredible results! In some cases we could get down to an 80-85 percent finish with the wool pad! The only down side to the compounds and polishes from Rupes would be dust, that being said in extensive paint corrections we always dust and rinse off prior to the final step.

Here are a few photos of a Porsche 911 GT2RS that we just prepped for paint protection film.

Here are the defects on the hood, light scratches and scuffs, were easily taken care of with the Rupes LHR15 MKII on speed 3.5 - 4 with Rupes Keramik primed on the pad with a drop of Rupes Zehpir.

Before

After using only the Rupes Blue Coarse Wool Pad

We have found that we have been much more productive using the Rupes Blue Coarse Wool Pad in our paint corrections offerings. We are seeing 20-30% savings in time. Results are quicker and cleaner.

We have found the Rupes Zephir and Keramik a great choice as well as Meg's M101 and M205! These seem to cake up less than some of the others we have tested.
Whether you are a pro or diyer these Rupes Blue Coarse Wool Pads will make your paint correction life much easier.

What Rupes says:
RUPES BigFoot Blue Coarse Wool Polishing Pads are the ideal choice when removing paint defects and refinishing a variety of finishes including factory-applied, refinish, hard, and soft paints. RUPES recommends using the RUPES BigFoot Blue Coarse Wool Polishing Pad

Benefits of using the Rupes Blue Coarse Wool Pads
  • faster cutting /better finishing
  • stays cooler longer
  • works on hard or soft paints
  • best results in speeds 3.5-4 on the Rupes Polishers - will save you time over other pads (foam / microfiber)
  • profits $$$

Damn! That BMW was trashed. I had a similar situation on the F30 that I purchased to flip, and although it was one-owner car, but paint work was trashed; similar to the BMW X3 you guys paint corrected. It had hard water spots, and paint that looked like it was washed with a steel wool.

I went from trying Uber yellow, and Menzerna FG400 combo to Microfiber and Menzerna SHC300 and after doing alot of research on the forums decided to give LC wool pad a try. And boy did it work...But it went from 1-step paint correction to 2-step, and ended up running me 44 hours to fully correct it. Worse detail job ever.

Also, I quit buying from you guys (placed several orders previously) but everytime I needed the Uber yellow pads you guys were out of them. I try to support small businesses but eventually gave up, and have since made the switch to Autogeek. I still use the Uber microfiber towels that I ordered from you guys several years ago, and are still good as new.

Are you guys doing any Black Friday sales this year?
