I just bought a 535d with 140k miles, but for some reason I can't find the driving modes, got only traction/normal, is this normal ?

You don't have that option, which is possible. Some were spec'd without it.

My 535d has option S4U2 - Driving Experience Switch Incl. ECO PRO

I believe this is what controls the various transmission and chassis settings.

Ditto above...its not missing...its just not on the option list.

If you have the various driving modes...the car needs to have one or more of the following option codes:

• S4U2A - EcoPro (gives EcoPro Mode)
• S2TBA - Sports Auto Tranny (gives Sport+ Mode)
• S223A - Adaptive Suspension (gives Comfort+ Mode)

You can see the option list on the right (in pic below) that represents the various option codes that will give a selection for different part nbrs (and configuration) of the switch in the center console. This also includes if the car has PDC (park distance control), HDC (hill descent), and side cameras in the front fenders.

My car came without it, I had it installed parts and labor for about 400 which I think is fair considering the wiring and coding process being a little complicated. It’s worth it to do.
