Are the Mercs sandbagging ?

IMHO . I don't think so , because Hungary was a high downforce track and that worked really well for the W13 .

SPA is special and completely otherwise , where a extreme low downforce setup is required because SPA is really fast !
Think the SPA low downforce setup transformed the Mercs in gravel machines !

We'll see on Spa high speed track if Wolff is lying as usual and just caught on that Chas crashed into a wall with a 1-2 for RBR in the FP3.

I'm been thinking for awhile Ferrari has a serious design flaw. It has snapped on LEC way too many times this year. I don't think VER could handle the Ferrari any better

Ferrari has the 2022 WDC car , poles are always for Ferrari . So , It's actually the fastest car .

But during the races . Ohhhw man ! The Ferrari drivers and the Ferrari strategy are terrible !

Let's not forget : In the first 4 races Charlie was leading the WDC with 80 points because MAX got 2 DNF !

And now is MAX leading with 80 points , because he made zero mistakes and the RB strategy was outstanding !
In other words : Ferrari threw it away !

EDIT : The Italian BINO clown threw it away

This goes to prove that having the fastest car isn't everything. You need a driver, you need strategy, you need a team and you need a bit of luck.

Unfortunately for LEC, Ferrari strategy and reliability has let him down more than LEC's own errors. LEC likely wouldn't have won a drivers title, but he definitely could have competed with VER. VER and Red Bull are the most complete team this year. Mercedes would be second. They're consistent, just plagued with a bad W13.
