AC Quit Suddenly

My 2015 535i suddenly lost A/C-I heard a hissing and a gurgling from inside the dash, then no air conditioning. From the symptoms I lost refrigerant suddenly. I see no signs of an impact on the condenser. I read some old (mostly European)
threads and it looks like 2012-2014 F10s had a problem with bad weld on the condenser. Has anybody had this kind of thing happen? Next step is dye to find the leak, but I'm trying to gain some knowledge in advance.

In my 2015 535i, had to replace the condensor, compressor, and expansion valve at 52,860 miles. They said it is not common, but not uncommon.

I had to change my condenser on my F10. I am afraid what you heard is a leak in the evaporator which is much more difficult to change.

Although my condenser was leaking, I could not see any dye. Maybe the leak was small?

I would definitely check if you have refrigerant in the system before anything. If you still have refrigerant. It could be that the blower has went bad. Easier and less expensive fix than opening the sealed system. Happened to a friend of mine and that's what it was

I had to replace my condenser. Hit a raccoon on the parkway. It's really not that hard. Then I used a vacuum and recharged the refrigerant myself. Was less that $300 in parts and refrigerant for me.

Did this end up being the condenser, evaporator, or compressor? I just had a similar event. I didn't quite hear any hissing but heard hear a noise and feel a slight vibration in the wheel and then ac was gone instantly. Just curious what yours ended up being.

I once had the same loud noise from the engine area for 10-20 seconds one day ..
then AC was gone..

Also curious what you have found out so far?
Thanks.

I had that happen on a previous car. The compressor ate itself.
