Bmw twin power turbo fuel additive
TWIN POWER TURBO FUEL ADDITIVE
Has anyone ever tried this stuff? You can buy it directly from BMW. Does it actually work? Thanks https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/1...-FUEL-ADDITIVE Last edited by 2014bmwf07; 06-25-2022 at 06:12 PM.. Reason: clarity |

The N55 has much better ventilation then the N54 and needs blasting much less often. We traded-in our 2013 535i last Jan with, IIRC, around 95K miles and never did the walnut treatment. I asked my SA about the procedure and he said they only do it on the N55 if other options to cure the fouled valve problem don't work.

I use the Chevron/Techron fuel additive about 500 miles before my next oil change.
Is it “snake oil”? Maybe, but for a few bucks it gives me a warm & fuzzy feeling that I’m doing sone easy preventative maintenance. I do believe that using gas with Techron is a wise choice with direct injection. |

The basics of Techron chemistry include the Techron molecules physically adhering to metal and displacing valve buildup - this would not help with direct injection but maybe there are other ways it helps other than placebo, ha ha. Does this mean that Techron contributes to carbon buildup or helps? Dunno. It probably cleans the injectors themselves, though.
