Twin turbo vs twin scroll turbo feel
Can you guys share some of your experiences with the N55 and N63 engines. Is it true that you won't feel the turbo lag that much in those engines? Also, will the N63 V8 feel that much heavier compared to the N55 straight 6? My wife has a 335i coupe(pre-LCI) and compared to my 545i, my car doesn't feel that much heavier. What about in the F10?

Additionally, what suspension do you have? My 535d M Sport has adaptive drive and whilst I've only driven about 300 miles, I really like the car. However I came from an E92 330d M Sport and I can obviously feel a significant difference in ride and handling. Ideally what I'd like to end up with is the steering feel of the E92; of course I realise that larger rims/lower profile tyres will stiffen the ride, but I have no objection to that as I can revert to Normal or Comfort modes over the rough stuff. |

No turbo lag at all with these engines. amazing, but the power is just avaliable in every aspect of the torque curve on the 35i (300 lbs at 1200rpm) and 50i boasts (450 @ 1750rpms). The real deal is at 80, 550i is effortless. You can be in 6th gear in a manual and not even need to downshift to pass. truely amazing feel... rather than speculate of fuel economy, the 35i gives you are 4-5 miles to the gallon... |
