Retrofit Combox from E92 in F07?
Hey guys,
I've just bought a 2010 530d GT with iDrive, Bluetooth, USB input, dvd players in the back etc... All great, but then I come to plugging my iPhone 5 in and it says not supported, nor is there the option to pair bluetooth device for audio like in my 2012 320d.. I'm about to sell the 320d, but I was wondering, would it be possible to remove the combox (I think that is the thing that does it right?) from the 320d and put it in the 530d GT? If so, what other stuff would need to come across? Could I then just re-code the 320d so it forgets it has that option and it'll just have basic bluetooth/usb interface? (Like the 530 GT has right now) Cheers |

What a brilliant fooking idea?
Why do all UK forum members come with these ideas? Stealing combox from E9x to 5 series!!! FYI, E series and F series comboxes are not compatible with each other. So save your energy.

Sorry, only just saw your reply! Not sure if that was sarcasm..
I've found that out since and did so without wasting the energy of trying it! Seems silly that they make everything modular so its relatively easy to add functionality etc, but then make them incompatible between cars of the same era.. Cheers |
