I'm making the switch to PS2! I'll be updating this thread with results as it happens. For those who don't know Rob at Speedlogic has been in the scene before N55's and has a ton of experience on this platform. He has performed numerous turbo installs from Pure to Vargas to Stock snails.

I've replaced the DP with the stock unit so we'll be building around that, however I have a custom exhaust. The first pass will be without an upgraded inlet due to scarcity. It's on an upgrade clutch, but the stock dual mass is starting to give. I've moved the tune down to a MP Stage 1. I will be upgrading to an aftermarket CP. keeping the stock FMIC and installing a BMS OAF. I'll dyno as listed above after completion.

Rob's work is more than just install what's requested. He only performs the request if your car is healthy. After a compression test and leak down the numbers showed were impressive for my heavily abused 2011. We're replacing seals top and bottom, hoses, vacuum lines, fluids, front brakes and rotors and misc small repairs to bring the car to full health.

As mentioned bring the car to full health before inserting massive power. Start with oil leaks. Oil pan out and inspecting for debris we found this awful thing:

I'd check your VANOS units, that looks like it could be from the head of one of the bolts. Early N55's are subject to a recall on those because they break off and cause the engine to stop, go out of time.

Also possible its a broken torx head bit, picture is small.

I will check that. Rob informed me there is a vanos recall on our F10's but you have to ask for it. I'll double check on your mentions.

How's the recovery going for you? Do have that inlet or FMIC you want to let go of?

no lie i love the way your attacking this project. Im also gearing up for PS2 after making sure the motor is up to par. All fuel injectors, coil, plugs, boost solenoids, lines, and diff fluid changed. Next step is finding me an inlet. Let me know any ideas or heads up cause i know AZ sold the last one .

We're actively seeking. Unless AZ was the one working with Pure there's another person who makes them and is back ordered.

I'm doing fine, burn has healed as much as its going to but left a scar I'll bear for the rest of my life. It looks like a birthmark now, doctor said it will fade but likely never leave me.

I'm all but completely divested from my 535i. Very little remains, misc electronic modules is all really. M5 is completely paid for and owned outright as of today.

The inlet sold local with the complete PS2 take off, I'd seriously considered making a run of 10 or so of them initially but AZ-MCRacer beat me to it and with a batch of his already out there demand wasn't sufficient to justify the capital investment on my part.

I reached out to my fabricator on Friday, I am waiting on a call back. It looks like there is enough demand that I am willing to make a run. I will get more info, with anticipated delivery dates and then request a partial payment to lock it in.
