Can car drive after airbag deploy?
Hello, guys. I am new owner of BMW F10 535. Bought it in America and now I am waiting it Georgia(country).
The car was damaged (front) so airbags were deployed. I bought the car with status “run and drive”. But on last photos that were sent before they putted car in container, they wrote on window: “don’t drive, 3 airbags deployed”. Is it ok? and how can I drive car, what procedures are after airbag deployment to drive car. It is my first BMW. |

I’m not a mechanic but I have watched some videos on people restoring accident cars and they have noted that there is a fuse on the battery that disconnects in the case of a severe accident. Presumably to minimise risk if fire
So that’s a possibility and if the car is dead that would need to be looked at first before you can fire up any of the electrics |

There is a pyro fuse at the battery that will blow depending on the severity of the crash. This will prevent the car from running and will need to be replaced.
What airbags do you need? I have some spares I would sell. Keep in mind some of the airbags in US cars diifer from the EU airbags (2 stage vs 1 stage) so you would need to replace with the correct one or code it out. |
