paddle shifter error codes - car goes to M2

I have 2015 535xi F10 with M package. I have installed new OHC steering wheel that has LCD display on the top and also needs 12V for the LCD to function. I got 12V and the display works OK. However, after transferring all control buttons and paddle shifters from my stock (M performance) steering wheel, when in the manual mode, car always shifts to M2 gear. + paddle shifter is working and I can change gears to go to M3, M4... all the way to M8, but then the car immediately shifts to M2. - paddle shifter also works in a sense that I can quickly change to higher and then lower gears using paddle shifters and then car changes it to M2 after a second or slightly less. This also happens if paddle shifters are not connected and I am using gear stick to shift gears manually. I've inspected the wires and they seem to be intact but ISTA shows me these 2 codes:

GSB231 --- 0x420665 Shift paddle: (shift paddle operation, 0x207) signal invalid

SZL_01 --- 0x80342C Shift paddles (SMG), analog port: short circuit to positive or open circuit

I got 12V for the steering wheel LCD from red and black wires (12V & ground) from the connector #3 (see pic below), they are 2nd and 3rd pins from the right. Shift paddles, and everything else was transferred from old steering wheel where everything worked fine. I am wondering what could be the cause of always shifting to M2 and I am assuming that above codes probably are symptoms of whatever is causing this, but I cannot see a cause of these issues when everything worked fine on the stock steering wheel. Any help to solve this issue is appreciated.

Are you positive the steering wheel is for an F10 and not an F30? The resistor network in the paddles is different. I would have expected "straight to M8" not M2 if that was the case, but I thought it worth asking.

I had stock shift paddles on my original F10 M-sport steering wheel and I have transferred them to new steering wheel.

Problem solved, initially I've used crimp style connectors to get power for the LCD screen on the steering wheel, so I undid those connections and soldered everything to ensure good contact and so far paddle shifters are working fine. Also, I've organized the rest of the wires inside steering wheel better since the space is tight. So far paddle shifters have been working fine for the last couple of days.
