BMW Recall
Hi guys,
Found out on the .gov website that my 66 plate F10 535d has a safety recall. Looks like BMW have expanded the criteria for the egr cooler recall. Booked in for this week. Just had to call them to get arranged, said it would be with them for the day. |

I actually had my 530d EGR done last year - had issues with the engine response & asked them to check, indeed was the EGR. Was with them for 16 weeks!!
I got a call this week about the recall, told them I'd had it done but they've insisted that it's a DIFFERENT part of the EGR that now needs the recall...... I'm not happy! |

Received a notice of the EGR recall today.
Enjoying the usual "premium" BMW dealer experience in getting it fixed. - We can deal with it next week as it is an urgent recall - No we don't have any courtesy cars - We will need the car all day - Couldn't you arrange for someone to pick you up? I wonder what capers will ensue next week... |

I had also EGR replaced on my expense before the end up in re call F11 530D. Thanks god they provided with full refund after several complaints - took nearly 14 months.
Not sure how safe is to drive with the EGR subject to recall but I my car completely lost power with a lot of fumes coming from the engine bay. |

- They went through the car with a fine tooth comb looking for anything they could charge me for, so they were straight on the phone trying to sell me disks and pads. - The free valet and mandatory disinfection was a joke, the car was all grease prints and was clearly never sanitised. They even phoned me again 3 weeks later pushing the brake service again. I traded the car with another dealer instead. |

Had this done, said it would be back the same day but ended up being in a day and a half.
Usual, discs/pads warning and no complimentary wash due to covid restrictions. Can't complain though, part replaced and not a fire risk anymore. |

Six week wait for a booking but wisny bothered about that. Must say tho, their car sanitiser smells like sweaty socks/ cat pish. Main thing hassle free |

So had this done, a month or so later I noticed oil around the erg. Wiped it clean but a week or so later, more oil had appeared. Took it to BMW, they had a look and said they hadn't changed a 'failed gasket', and that they would repair free of charge. No longer leaking but worth keeping an eye on it for a month or so if you have this work done. |
