GSR Technik F10/F13 N63TU Stage 1 tune results- +86whp +71wtq at redline!
Hi guys,
We have been trailblazing F-series tuning for over a year now, and have set records on all engines and platforms we currently support. We have been tuning many N20, N55, S55 and S63 engines for the rest of the forum and wanted to showcase what can be done for the N63 as well. Our long time customer Ean brought in his white 650i to be tuned, we flashed his previous 750i for him and he wanted the nimbler 6 series to feel the way it should have come from the factory. The car is completely stock, running CA 91 octane pump gas (no race fuel mix trickery) and was dyno'd on an extremely hot day. The car gained an amazing 86hp and 71tq at the tires at 6400RPM. The attached graph shows the breakdown, the most impressive part of this engine's tune is that it held power incredibly well at the top of the rev range even with scorching hot environmental conditions. Tune includes the usual top speed removal, optional stage 2 programming, optional rev limit increase, and customization for various hardware mods and fuel types. We also coded the exhaust flap to stay open during full throttle conditions so we got the added sound benefit of adding an exhaust with no additional hardware modifications. Great write up GSR Autosport although I am hearing, those who do Rev Limiter Removal are to be really careful with BMW voiding their warranty.

Yea of course lol even the piggybacks, but what I mean is those who go with the ECU Flash and leave Rev Limiter stock vs those who increase the Rev Limiter

We have a couple of different tools to flash the old Siemens ECU's for the first gen N63 turbo cars, unfortunately for some reason they will not read out the ECU via obd2 and when I ask the tool manufacturers, they don't seem to want to fix it, not sure why to be honest. The X5m, and the x5 50i we have tuned with great success but the 2011 550 and 750's we have tried don't seem to cooperate.
We have tunes for the naturally aspirated cars with the Bosch Me9 ECU, those are good tunes but obviously don't gain the kind of power we are seeing on the turbo applications. |
