F1 Intro

Anybody think there will be a fresh new intro for the 2011 season? It seems like they only used the same one for 2-3 years before a refresh.

are you talking about about the speed F1 intro or the Bernie's F1 intro that the world sees?

Not sure I'd call it the Bernie's intro. But yes, the official intro that is played on the BBC.

Never even seen the Speed intro.

the one with the colour lines symbolosing the cars that materialise into the F1 logo (which annoyingly features "ferrari" red). That's put on by FOM. It's relatively new, it used to be an old school electric guitar over white, yellow, and black letters/symbols, kinda like the old timing that they used to have... I understand that was on for ages (since like, the 70s into the 00s). So in short, I don't see it changing any time soon.

I'm actually talking about the BBC1 intro featuring, "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac.

The previous intro was in 2008 and featured the song, "Lift Me Up" by Moby.

There has been many versions

This one was 2009-present

This was 2003-2008.

And this is the one been using in the 90s...

That's the intro FOM Feed to all TV stations. before the intro, FOM will lend out cameras to tv stations like BBC, SPEED, etc. to do their own pre-race show. then about 5-10 mins before the race, tv stations must return the equipment back to FOM and pictures will be fed by FOM feed. So all TV stations will get the same picture.
I remember I heard that somewhere from BBC/ITV or Speed...

they did change a little bit....i think the voice "This is Formula 1" changed from a male to female (or vice versa)....and in 2010, there's a countdown "XX Races to go, This is Formula 1"....

Have you heard the full speech that, "This, is Formula 1." bit is taken from? Its a pretty awesome speech. I think they played it at the beginning on the 2010 Bahrain and in 2009 when that intro was first ran. Hopefully this year they embellish on it a little bit.

I think its taken from the speech played in FIA 2010 Gala award....
Its like a God given voice....they used in 2009 throughout the season.

Yes, I think you're correct, I think they only used once in 2009 season opening, then BBC cut to just "This, is Formula 1".

That speech got me pumped up!!!

Here ya go suckas. If you have an iphone just downlaod this file, and have your own F1 ringtone. One thing to note, there is a dead pace in the middle of the intro that I cut down. It plays a bit quicker.
