OP is trying to replace the "ugly" LCI one with the flat bottom one. He's got a 2014 LCI 535i Msport (with the msport wheel already) arriving soon. We've been tracking orders since last month.

Looking at swapping the LCI one with the M6 wheel now, since the old F10 is completely different style. No way I'd buy an airbag to make things work, gets way to expensive seeing as the airbag itself is close to $1000.

Thanks for cleraing that up, $2000+ just in parts is a bit too expensive for just a steering wheel.

Fingers crossed the airbag is compatiable so there wont be a need to buy one.

Lol, the thing about opinions is that most have one- and not always the same.

I like the way the new steering wheel looks, however I haven't lived with it. I'll issue a full review on this very controversial change in a couple of months.

I like the MSport steering wheel on my LCI. The padding is slightly thinner which is a positive for me, nice stitching, and the gauge visibility is better. The old on felt a little big to me, but this one feels just right. I'm enjoying using the thumb wheel to select music tracks on the heads up display as well (not unique to this wheel).

It will fit but wont work. I believe the voltage in the paddles and switches are not the same.

I believe one of the threads by "Stuck" documents that the resistors in the paddles are different for F30. He resoldered in the resistors for F10 and they worked OK.

If you don't have SMT soldering experience, it's probably easier to source F10 paddles.

I have a 2015 m sport steering wheel "no paddles" heated. I want to upgrade to the paddle shifters. I have 3 questions if you guys can help.

1. Will any f chasis m sport wheels with paddles work/ fit on my 2015 f10?
2. Do i have to buy a heated specific steering wheel? Or will the heat option transfer heat to the new steering wheel?
3. If heated specific, can some one point out the part number for f10 LCI m sport paddle shifter w/ heat option.

I really want the paddle shifter but don't want to lose the heat option.. i've seen a couple of m sport steering wheels for f10 on ebay but no where it states if they are heated or not.

1: IIRC you'll need an LCI wheel
2: Must have the heat option if you want to retain that option.

Does anyone have a part number for a f10 LCI paddle shifters?

I purchased a f30 m sport steering wheel and it does not fit my LCI f10.. i was just planing on swapping the back cover trim and the harness from the f30 and adding f10 paddle shifters.

I have no experience nor the knowledge with resisters or soldering to be able to customize the f30 paddles to fit the f10. Drilling the mounting holes on my f10 should be no problem.

Again, does anyone by any chance know the part number for the f10 paddle shifters or any compatible fxx paddle shifter since now the f30s is out the question Or perhaps a f10 m sport steering wheel with paddles and heated.

THANK YOU GUYS !!!!

I have a pair for sale in the buy and sell forum. I believe you're looking for 61317848968 in most cases for the standard paddles. Purchased from another forum member here when I was building a retrofit wheel but partway through the process I ended up with a complete M5 wheel so didn't need the parts. (I believe the bottom photo was originally his, the top two are mine).

May I ask exactly which resistors we have to resolder?

Yes the LCI Models some of them have a dual stage airbag which is 2 inflators. But some come with a deflator also known as a "vent" as well and it needs to be coded if you put an LCI Airbag on.

The heated option is inside the steering wheel and does not transfer over to any steering wheel. Make sure you buy one with heating

If you don't have heating option now, you need to add a switch for heating and run wires to steering wheel harness. Heating is built into steering wheel leather, there is a mesh of heating wires under the steering wheel.

Tom retrofit paddle shifters you also need small wiring harness that goes inside steering wheel that paddle shifters connect to.

Of course it is easier if you get used F10 LCI steering wheel that you want and things are already done for you.
