Brand new BMW owner - '15 535i xDrive

First BMW. Loving it. I've had my space gray '15 535i xDrive with M-Sport package for about a month now and couldn't be happier. I've spent most of the past month lurking about these forums and quite honestly a bit overwhelmed. I've owned "tunable" cars before (Subaru, Honda) but the availability of options for BMW are awesome. I've got Bimmercode and Bimmerlink so far and have been enjoying browsing through the options (comfort access, headunit, instrument cluster, etc.).

So - questions so far...

1. It seems my car doesn't have an exhaust flap, or at least one that's controllable via Bimmerlink. It sure sounds like it does when it starts and after about 20 seconds, the "rumble" quiets to a purr. Is it just the exhaust system heating up? Bimmerlink tells me "funtion not available" when I try the exhaust flap feature. I tried to search, but didn't find much regarding my year/model/trim and the adjustable exhaust flap.

2. I've searched a bunch and have seen many mentions of Bootmod3, Dinan, JB?, BMS? My general goal is to not change a thing engine/exhaust-wise, just get more power out of what is already there. Help me with the next best step in that process. Searching these forums has been kind of mind-blowing because it seems like there are SO MANY options.

Thanks in advance for advice - I've been a part of a lot of make/model specific forums before. The "learning curve" to entering the BMW world seems steep, so go easy on a newb!

Congrats! the car looks great! initial start up is a Cold startup so it's going to be loud and than like you said, it quiets down. as far as performance there's a bunch of threads in the Engine, Performance, exhaust forum under Technical. plenty of good info as far as tunes go.

Welcome and congratz!

1) No flap within 535i. What you hearing is probably the cold start

2) I ran JB4 on my '13 535i.

Congrats on that beauty! I have had a JB4 on my 2011 and put about 10k miles on it in map 5 (auto tune) with just an intake and 93 octane and it has been dead reliable
