I'm going to make this short and simple. I have an f10 with the premium sound system which is essentially the Harmon Kardon speakers and amp. This differs highly from the top hifi sound system as it has a bigger and more powerful amp and a few extra speakers than the top hifi. I bought the subs and stage one speakers from bavsound- they don't sell a more powerful amp for this level of speaker system and I honestly wasn't impressed and definitely not worth the $1400. The subs sound just a little better, nothing noticeable, and I honestly think the stock speakers sound better. If you have the top hifi the upgrade may be worth it, but if you have the premium sound system I'd save your money for something else

I'm not sure how good the bavsound ghost sub but Alpha One sub is a noticeable upgrade from Top Hifi sub. I also swap out Top Hifi speakers with FaitalPro 4FE32 and Eminence SD28 with 2nd order crossover. The speakers sound more airy and able to turn up the volume close to 75% without distortion. I got the MB Quartz, sound was only incrementally better (must be at louder volumes) as well. Luckily, got it at a deep discount otherwise would've been sad. If we could upgrade the amp, I think we could get some noticeable gains.

If your system come with Top Hifi running on Optical signal, the upgrade path would be more troublesome as you need to use mObridge DA3 and external amp (Total 9 channels). Or the cheaper option would be to tap the wire for front 3 channels and underseat sub, redirect to AudioControl D-6.1200 (which can take in high level input + DSP) for tuning and able to drive 125W@4ohms or 200W@2ohms.

I'd really appreciate if feedback like this included option codes instead of "top", "premium" and "hk" because the terms are arbitrarily swapped around by some folks and equipment changed over the life of the F10. e.g. S677A instead of "top".

Sure thing. My car has the premium sound (677) sound system. I originally was going to change the amp, but bavsound only makes an upgraded amp for the top hifi (676). They only make subs and speakers for the 677 sound system. And I also realized that the 677 sound system has more speakers than the 676

There's some confusion here. 676A is HIFI option. 677 is Top HIFI or HK Premium HIFI. HIFI come with 285w amp and run on analog which can be replace directly with Audio Fischer UP 7BMW or Bavsound Revenant (rebrand of 7BMW). Top Hifi run on MOST amp and digital signal from HU.
