RPM fluctuates at cold start

Hey everyone, I seem to have a bit of a worry when it comes to my 2011 535i Xdrive. Every time I turn it on for a cold start, it reveals from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm for about 10 seconds or so. I've looked around and didn't find much on this topic. Was just wondering if there was anything serious that I need to fix. I've checked everything in the engine and everything seems to be running fine and I scanned the ECU and found no codes other than an 11a210 and 11a204 code which was explaining that the LPFP had some pressure issues which isn't a big deal as it's only a sensor that needs replacing. I feel like the two situations aren't correlated though and I think that this cold start issue is software related if anything. Anyways what do y'all think?

Flucuates or just starts high then settles-down after a bit?

When I start it it's at the normal rpm then if fluctuates from about 800 rpm to 1500rpm then settles down after 10 seconds or so

That happens to me as well and I still haven't figured it out.

Look into the valvetronic motor. My 2011 was experiencing similar behavior and that was the culprit.

I scanned my car and it came up with no codes whatsoever regarding this issue. I'm led to believe that this is a software fluke on bmw which I need them to recalibrate or whatever

Checked mine this morning...

1200ish until I out the trans in "N", then down to about 850. Once I drive (gently) for a minute or so the RPM drops to normal. I've been told high initial RPM is to get the engine up to operating temp sooner for emissions. Ambient temp this morning was about 63ºF (dewpoint mid 50's ish).

I scanned my car and it didn't show any codes either, but when the dealer checked for codes there was a valvetronic motor fault code saved in the DME. Not saying your issue is the same, but this was my experience.

I believe this is normal. When I start the car in the morning, it goes up to about 1200- 1500 RPM, then about 10-15 seconds drops down to normal about 800-900 rpm> If i'm not mistaken its to help with oil circulation on cold starts.

This is normal behavior for cat warm up.

I have my cold start turned off. It does for a quick second for me and goes down and than never does it again until the car is cold again and I start the engine.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I may have been overreacting a bit. I just got the car and it's got me noticing every tiny detail. If it gets worse or throws a code I'll know where to go, you guys. Thanks again.
