A- Pillars

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what grade of steels do BMW used to make their A-Pillars for 2011 5 series cars? Is it any different from 2010?

I found on a site that they use UHSS, HC1000w but I have no clue what grade of steel it is? Is it alloyed with carbon, boron, or Al?

I have no idea, but, purely out of engineering interest, I'm very curious as to why you want to know.

Series 360 hot rolled coil stainless, hot dipped galvanized, with only 0,135% of high ferrochromium alloy. The steel is purchased from mittal underva 3 year contract ....
