BMW F10 No Power, Transmission Malfunction
Hi All,
My dad's BMW F10 is showing transmission malfunction and the dash won't light up. I can't open the trunk, as I suspect it is a battery issue. Hooked up a voltmeter to the battery leads under the hood and it is showing 12.5V. Please help Best, Icemilkteaa

Was this ever figured out? Same issue just popped up on my 2014 535d. No power to anything, battery is fully charged according to my checks, and an intermittent transmission malfunction error on the dash. Nothing else, not even a light.

2013 F10 N55 Transmission Malfunction - no power
Hello, Did anyone fix this issue? I have similar, new battery, and voltage tests fine on the chassis and to the engine (12.9V). When I enter the vehicle, it chimes, and after a second the Transmission Malfunction appears, and dash backlighting turns on, but nothing else, no iDrive. When I press the start, it will either do nothing or briefly come alive for half a second before shutting down and giving a double chime.
I thought perhaps it is the ground strap as everything seems to point to a short or disconnect somewhere, but when I pulled the front lower cover I did see some wetness on the pump next to the lower pulley - water pump? Could not locate the ground strap to verify that either. As I am not getting any power to the dash, my Carly cant read the ECU for codes. Starting to run out of ideas here and hoping to save myself a tow to the nearest shop (40mi away) |
