The forum is relegated to "tossing darts" at your question hopefully providing you with what the true nature of your inquiry is about. The f10 remote fob (#1) has an integrated key (#2)...if what you're looking for is info about manual activation of a locked door:

No. My e46, which did not have keyless start, came with 2 key fobs, and 1 plastic wallet key, which was to be used for valet because it could only start and lock the car. I think BMW discontinued that plastic key a while ago and replaced it with this system shown above

I liked the plastic key idea. It was a nice security blanket! |

Unless my interpretation of "security" is from a different perspective...you still have the "security". BMW gives you two remote fobs and each one has the (#2) integrated key built into it. So if you lost electrical power (like a dead battery)...you can pop the integrated key blade out to manually unlock the driver's door.

When you turn your remote fob in to the valets (like ezaircon4jc explained)...you remove the integrated key. This way, they (the valets) can still lock/unlock the doors to get access to the START button (to move the car)...but your laptop is not accessible to them because they need the integrated key to unlock the center armrest to turn the valet switch off. As long as the valet switch is on...they can't access the trunk even though they have the remote fob. See SECURE SEPARATELY from the owners manual for explanation of how to secure items in the trunk when using valet service when you have the new style remote fobs and comfort access.
