Yeah, there was a problem with the Valves they used.

opposite suction of what our cars need. But its a simple fix, just takes time to get them.

Maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand how the valves will work if the muffler is located where the resonator/x-pipe is currently located on a stock car and the pipes from the muffler go directly to the tailpipes - no muffler or anyplace to install the valves near the outlets. If a valve was installed in one of the tailpipe outlets it wouldn't do anything sound wise as the muffler is way back under the car. And if you put a valve on one of the muffler outlets, you'd seriously cause a lot of back pressure resulting in loss of power.

Tell me i'm wrong.

They said it did change the noise level as well as tone. I see your point and I'm not exactly sure as far as back pressure is concerned but it should be fine as the location of the mufflers isn't as important as how the gas flows out of the mufflers or muffler at this case. If they got that part correct all else should be fine especially since the piping is increased to 3 inch. Another reason it should work is the flaps on a stock 550 are also behind the muffler and it makes a difference in noise when open vs closed. It's a slight difference mind you, however stock 550s are near silent on purpose and not meant to get loud so hopefully it will be a much larger difference in this case. Guess time will tell...

Transporter!! long time man.

Yea I spoke to Mike at LSD who then called the Developer and confirmed how the valves work and everything should be good.
I got nervous for a second!! haha.. I need my valves especially now that I'm with Catless DPs. Car sounds so damn mean though!!

When the right valve is installed, doesn't matter where the muffler is, it will open and close depending on Throttle engagement % and RPM.
So 2 pipes open vs 4 = less NOISE.

Are there any videos or has anyone heard the valved version? I really want to get a better sounding exhaust (the 550i is so silly quite) but really don't want it to be annoying at highway speeds for long drives.

Yeah man it has been lol! I'm not sure if you already have an exhaustmeister but if not I would recommend you get one! It allows control over the valves at any time so you can open them even at idle for a louder more aggressive sound! Ive had mine for a few months now and cant wait to get to use it on a real exhaust as the stock 550 exhaust makes almost no noise open or closed unless in a garage or next to a wall and even then its still quiet haha. Hopefully that will be soon as I know most of us have been waiting on this for months from when we pre ordered them.

Not sure on this but as soon as mine comes in I will upload clips as soon as it gets installed.
Shouldn't have to worry about it being annoying as the F10 cabins are so well insulated.

just my 2 cents.. they should also offer this exhaust with 2 mufflers instead of one in the middle.. i think it will greatly improve the sound. Right now it sounds like arches stock exhaust with out mufflers.

That's unfortunate if it's true as lots of us paid close to 2k for this. How are you comparing these 2 for similarity? If it's by videos I feel much better than if it's by in person account as everyone's devices capture sound very differently for a number of reasons thus not giving a very true sound for comparison. Hopefully in person it sounds different and better than just doing a muffler delete which could have been done months ago and at a much lower cost. Time will tell...

Just from sound of video i recorded on my 5s and compared.. this defiantly sounds better but to my ear not by much.... that's why i suggested to make a version with dual mufflers. here is video i made

and this is my car basically same piping just 2 M5 mufflers...

I wouldn't worry about it. Car sounds great. Black is just trying to stir things up.

Black you also have downpipes with highflow cats in your video. And how you think the car sounds is your opinion.
