N63 Replacement
My 2013 F10 550i had a "bad" bearing. The dealer is replacing the engine with some assistance from BMW NA. I was told the replacement was a "re-engineered" engine.
I would like to hear any experiences with the replacement engine and how the new one is running. Also, is the replacement engine the N63TU or is it just a rebuilt N63? |

The dealer re-manufactured long block N63's are for all intents and purposes brand new engines. Of the two I've installed for clients best I could tell approximately 0% of the components were used. New castings throughout, no evidence of being legitimately reworked in any appreciable manner.
Experience with after the install should be the same as when the car was new with regards to the engine, I can't speak for the state of everything else on the car. |
