How much discount do BMW employees get?

Everytime I do a PCD and head over to the Zentrum for the factory tour they mention all of the BMW's parked in the factory parking lot and how BMW gives the employees a "generous" discount or lease rates on BMWs. Anyone know what they get?

Are you looking to get hired in order to receive a discount?

Maybe the discount will bring prices back down to MSRP.

I'll tell you that when I was working at a dealership in Glendale, AZ that the prices they gave employees on cars was nothing to be excited about, it was almost like they didn't want to sell employees cars because they would make more money selling them retail to normal customers. And with the current lack of inventory I get it, but it definitely didn't make you feel appreciated! I heard the deals USED TO BE great though.

I could see that especially if they are coming out of dealer inventory and especially right now. I wonder how it is if you work at the plant in Spartanburg though.

Spartanburg is BMW corporate; dealerships are separately owned by others.

If it’s cloudy there’s a good chance of rain; not quite the same on a clear day, much less chance of rain.

Bmw corporate has what is called an “all employee lease”, it is a subsidized 1 yr lease for Bmw employees once they’ve worked there for a reasonable amount of time, I think it’s currently one year. Generally, they lease for slightly less than what you could do at a dealership if you were leasing the car as some lease charges are different. I am currently on a BMW retiree lease, which is a slightly different program., Available to any retirees that have longer than 15 years employment. It is also relegated to only certain volume models, and obviously not the hot ones. Obviously, most of the all employee leases are three series.

BMW corporate also has a program for salesman in a dealership if they are part of an elite group chosen every year for their performance /CSI. It enables a dealership sales person to drive a BMW on subsidized 1 yr lease. It is known as “profiles in achievement”.

Currently I believe all these programs are frozen due to the lack of inventory available to dealers.
