Quiet stand fan

Can anyone recommend a good *quiet* stand fan? Maybe something with a wide range of speeds? I have one that has three speeds, but even the lowest speed makes a fairly loud noise. Mix of wind, whine, and oscillation. Causes my tinnitus to crank all the way to 11.

Have no personal experience with it, but everyone on the Costco FB groups are raving about THIS LITTLE WOOZOO FAN. Its $39.99 in store.

Looks like a decent fan, but I need a stand fan. I do plan on a trip to Costco this week, so I'll check there for options. I've seen those Dyson type fans with no visible blades, but I've always questioned how much air they can move. Maybe Costco will have a demo model.

Great reviews and many say it’s very quiet.

Didn’t cost $130 used…. I bought it last year and I like it.

Whew. Quiet is pricey. Might be worth it, though. I can't run the one I have for more than 15 minutes because my ears really start screaming at me.

A friend has one of those vertical Dyson's. It's very quiet and really does move the air. The van is in the base and blows air through the ring.

Haha. I actually have that exact model. Don’t know why I didn’t think of it. But yes, it’s relatively quiet. And if I remember correctly, it was around $50-$60 when I got it. It’s a lot more expensive now

Just checked my Amazon order history. It was $47.69 back in September 2017. Still running strong.

I hear these are very quiet; either standing, or sitting.

Was a believer in the generic three speeds fan on a stick but the tower fans have won me over. The tower fans are quieter and have features that the fan on a stick normally do t have.

Amazon is your friend. Buy a few and try them out. I have two Atomi fans. Can vouch for the quietness and they are middle of the road in price.

I second Rowenta Silence fan, been using one for a year. It's definitely worth its price

I have the Dyson, it moves enough air for me, but it's a personal-use fan at best, it's not one of those things that will oscillate a good breeze across a big room.

It's also very quiet but not completely quiet. You'll hear the whooshing of the air. Don't know if that will still be a problem for you
