Hey guys:
I cut a corner too close and I got some curb damage in my 3 week old 550i OUCH... Does anybody know what color the M sport package wheels are? I want to try fixing it myself since the rash is not that deep and it will probably happen again. So looking for the paint type, putty kind and where can I find these? Autozone? I have been reading and watching some videos and it feels too me this is doable at home? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!! |

Awwww man, sorry to see that happen to you. I know you want to do it yourself but I would at least get an estimate on a pro job. It's $100 here in VA area per wheel and they come to your house/work. My girlfriend has a 328 I was going to do so I priced it out.

I tried a quick fix on my OEM wheels a few years back, and used "Wurth German Alloy Silver Wheel Lacquer" followed by a coating of clear coat. I originally had the same wheels as you, and only painted one of the five sections defined by your star-shaped wheel design - - bad call, as upon close inspection, the difference in paint shading and texture was noticeable.
If you decide to do the repair yourself, I would strongly recommend that you paint and clear coat the entire wheel for continuity. Otherwise, have it done professionally for around $100 (I'm sure your local dealer can refer you to several qualified wheel repair specialists) and you should be completely satisfied - - especially considering your damage appears to be very minor. Good luck either way!

Thank you so much for the information. I was actually about to buy the exact same products you just mentioned since thats what some forums out there say are the best products.
