Drivetrain malfunction after 1 month ownership
Yesterday got on the screen the "Drivetrain Malfunction - power may be reduced" message. i have a 2015 535i xdrive.
Today i went to and from the shopping center and the message wasn't there. I took it to Auto Zone for them to read any codes, but they said there are no check engine codes to read. Can that be true? The yellow check engine dashboard light never came on. But i'd think getting the drive train malfunction on the Nav screen would log an issue? Any suggestion what i should do? I have no maintenance history. Thanks |

Get a full reading of the codes. i have never had a drivetrain malfunction error but i have had a couple others that show up and then go away and no codes show up ---- normal cumputer quirk.

Get a scanner that has the ability to read BMW specific codes and not just generic P-Codes.
There will most definitely be some codes logged in your Error Memory. |
