Will the F10 have a manual transmission for the v8tt?

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if anyone has heard if the v8tt will have a manual transmission available. Isn't it the same engine that's available in the current 7 series? Would BMW go through the trouble of making a manual available when all I seem to hear about is the new 8 speed automatic.

I was thinking the same thing 2 days ago. I want my next car to be an M, and would not mind waiting for the next M5, especially if it comes with a MT.

I wouldn't mind waiting for the M either, but with all the info about KERS technology I would really doubt that they consider an manual option. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The US is such a big market of neanderthals that they probably have to do a 6mt for the m5. We are so backward, you know! I hope so...

But the last M5 in 6mt guise was a big FAIL (from what I heard). So I am not sure if they would go down that path this time around

The reason was because the manual transmission was an afterthought. The design of the V10 was mainly for the use with the SMG.
