Wow, was I in shock when I saw this car today. I mean I knew it was going to look great, but this is potentially going to be perfect, design wise.. Lets see how it goes and how much more they show us in the next few weeks.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Perfect, with the 5-series gt interior this car is a done deal and we can say bye bye to the E class. My favorite part is by far that double hood line, amazing work from the CS car

There are more 5er's going on to the streets- as we now begin the final testing programme to see how the car performs in every day use.
Although the debut will not be seen for a few months yet. The development programme continues. The extensive development programme for the new 5er that development prototypes visited some of the best driving roads in the world in the pursuit of the perfect driving car. Millions of miles have been covered by Prototypes and are still in testing especially Hot weather testing and market specific testing. BMW also took an especially progressive approach to the quality programmes within the next 5er making sure everything is as it should be. New levels of interior quality will welcome the new F10 as BMW have brought in quality controls as used within the Rolls-Royce operation to evaluate trim and overall finish in it's latest and upcoming cars. Get Excited. When the 5er Gran Turismo Concept Car was introduced many took it upon them that this was the new 5er. So we soon were introduced with the latest Interpretations that when you take into account the 5er Gran Turismo is taller , wider and longer than the new 5er all you got was a BMW 5er GT sedan and it looks all out of proportion ,with the 5er details of what we knew applied to the GT. Again I use the term Bloodline because the design sculpture evident on the 5er GT will be the Bloodline symbolism on the 5er Sedan and Touring. Although these details remain the same the 5er sedan which is much smaller than the GT will have them stretched out and more in proportion with it's dimensions. As discussed previously 5er Gran Turismo is seen as an Individual choice and to seperate it as such certain design details differ from the regular 5er models but it keeps the Bloodline intact. The Grille is shorter because as mentioned from the very beginning the 5er receives a very sporty low roofline to signify it's intentions as the segments best driving and looking sports sedan, and the wider kidney grille illustrates that idea . The overall look is evolutionary what with the slanted headlights carried over from the E60 to complete the aggressive appearence the E60 showcased. The rear of the car again takes it's cues from the Gran Turismo but rakes the rear lamp units for a more sporting dynamic look again defined by the E60 although the 1 piece units have been replaced by a typical L shape. Exterior wise the car features a lot of choice for the owner especially in wheel choice where the customer can select either designs that signify sport , luxury and indeed design with 3 designs featured on the idea illustrated with the CS Concept's huge design alloys. |

I saw a more heavily disguised one of these in Munich in mid June while I was dropping off my car after Euro Delivery.
It was right near E.H. Harms in Garching, close to ///M headquarters and was being followed by a Sedona 135i, driving rather 'spiritedly'. I am now wondering if it might have been an early ///M5 test mule, but it didn't have dual exhaust and wasn't very loud (135 was louder). Oh well, missed opportunities... ![]() |

love it...i just love a good tease
the mirrors look nice, interior is very very good and the tail lights and hood are acceptable enough. The tail lights, I was afraid of, woul dhave been similar to some pshops and the hyundai genesis sedan rear tail lights. i can't wait to see mtech |

Looks perfect in every way, size, profile, proportion! As I scroll through the pictures from first post, I'm so pleased with the new interior style, no more humping dash. Hopefully, the door panel trim will look equally dynamic.

Looks great!
You can tell this new 5 has taken several cues from; the new 5-Series GT, E90 LCI, and F01. It's going to be stunner for sure!

Quote:
Compared to the cohesive new 5er, the 2010 E Class is an odd mix of styling cues - Lexus-like headlights, a very strange 1950s style rear quarter panel and Hyundai-like tail lamps. And to accompany this styling, MB will continue to supply the same old engines for NA. ![]()
