Just posted this in another thread, but re-thought that it deserves a new one.
BMW may have, unintenionally slipped a bit the new F10 designed. COuld this be the new F10 with less camouflage? (taken from this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...89#post6066389 ). Note that in fact on the left there is another F10, but with heavy bodywork camouflage, which strengths further more my theory. Headlamps are quite visible here: |

Reviewing stuff, now I'm 99.9% sure its the F10. Why?
-the shape of the headlamps in the area closer to the centre/grills is also different to the GT, closer to the centre towards the lower part, contrary to the GT where the actually its the upper part that gets more to the centre http://f10.5post.com/goodiesforyou/g...r/P0051119.JPG -The fact that there is another camouflaged F10 on the left makes strong the point that this is a "secret" car in a closed garage of BMW. - The upper part of the headlights don't have the thin "white lip" that the GT does have. -If you zoom (the up left part), you'll see a metallic plate that says its built in Octobre08, which matches the F10 prototypes timing. -The fact that this photo slipped a week ago, already well after the GT was officially unveiled, would make camouflage useless if it was the GT. -That the GT doesn't have this technology (of heat isolation) yet on-board, but the new 5 series is expected to implement this and other new measures for the Efficient Dynamics. All in all, there is its the future 5 series! ![]() |

Sorry, that is an X5. All new BMW sedans have the cheap looking cut line where the hood meets the front grill/bumper - see 7 Series. X5/X6 hoods flow down to the bumper with the kidney grills built into the hood.

Touché I may say, but now I have new doubts.
Actually the X1 has the same arrangement of hood shape as the 5 series, so i cannot be that one either. Though camouflage would only make sense for the X1, as there have been no recent (less than couple of months) new X5 or X6 that would require camo, as even the M's were out already few months ago. Whats more, actually the grills entrance are lower in respect to the headlamps compared to those of the X5 and X6. May it be the new X3 in the works? |
