Very interesting oil filter cap video.

I will have to order one soon, my plastic cage doesnt even attach to the cap anymore.

What are your thoughts?

I watched that video today, that guy is awesome. I got a billet cap where I can use a 18mm socket to unscrew it, I might buy that just for the cage... I like his through process, replace all plastic!

Yeah I gotten a mann filter for 3$ the other week i replaced it just now incase that issue. At least till.i get the new housing in. I'm on nearly 5k miles going to change my oil soon too. Just placed a order on Amazon for this cap. Free shipping saved me 18$. All I did was search the model number off ecstuning.

Dang 30 bucks for a billet cap is kind of... nuts? The BMS one is 65. Definitely copping one. Guess it's not as pretty as the BMS one, but nothing some spray paint won't fix.

wow nice find on amazon! I've added it to my cart... I'll take the aluminum cage and put that in my BMS Cap.

Youtube comment for those curious:

Quote:
NO. Do not use this metal cap. The center cage is too firm and negates the relief valve action. Also, the center cage does NOT fully seat into the back of the cap because the metal clips are too hard and have no give. You will have to dremel down some of the hard edges on the sides of the center cage base in order to get it to fully slide past the core metal clips. But the most dangerous part of this poorly made cap is the fact that the relief valve is too hard and requires too much pressure.

I ordered one, did an analysis and decided to not use this unit. It's still on my shelf brand new.
I'm doing an oil change soon, I'll see if I can verify. And as someone else mentioned, lube up the threads a bit with oil on the metal cap. Threading metal onto metal can cause galling.

After further inspection, yea it's not a very nice part. There's sharp edges, and overall, the casting is pretty rough. Even for the filter cap itself, there's burrs on the fricking threads. Upon further research into URO parts, the general consensus is that they make low quality parts, so yea stay away. Returning mine. Not even free returns, smh.
