Steering wheel slightly off to the left
I have a 2015 550i with Integrated Active Steering. During slow driving around town everything seems normal and straight but on the highway I noticed that the steering wheel is slightly to the left ("11:30 o'clock") when the car is going straight. Is there some kind of calibration that needs to be done to the electronic steering or do I need an alignment (tires are wearing evenly)? Or something else I'm missing?

A cocked steering wheel is an alignment issue. The alignment can be correct with the steering wheel not centered. If you've had the alignment done recently I would go back and have then center the wheel; if not, I would get an alignment and have them pay special attention to the centerness (is that even a word? ) of the wheel.

Given the IAS, do I have to go to the dealer or is this something a regular alignment shop can handle (I'm close to Custom Alignment in Mountain View thought their prices are steep)? |

Go to the dealer. My experience with any independent shop is 50%/50% on them getting the steering aligned perfectly during wheel alignment. Dealer isn't perfect, but It's usually 90%. I usually will call this out now before they even start working on the car.

Had same issue with my steering. Was bit off, however after couple times at dealership with no luck getting it right, I ended up going to a 3rd party alignment specialist and the owner got it perfectly aligned.

Dealer, or a high-end specialty alignment shop; one that specializes in Porsche's, Ferrari's, Bentley's and such. The specialist won't be cheap, but you're pretty much guaranteed it will be perfect.
