What I mean is that you won't get the 704 m suspension on a f10 with adaptiv drive anywhere in the world.

Well I finally decided today and cancelled my 2014 535D M Sport order. I got very good deal on 2013 Carbon Black/Black Dakota leather with lots of goodies on it. I just couldn’t justify paying $3150.00 for cosmetics and not having true M Sport suspension.

What about the "It (704) will start Sept production though due to popular demand" comment you posted earlier? I assume you are following this topic on another popular bimmer forum as well to note the recent discussions there? Still, sounds like a great deal and a very nice ride!

Why wouldn't you just go ahead with your order, and swap your springs with some stiffer ones. You can even get you some 2013 M-Sport springs if you like for about $500. I believe you'll regret not buying the LCI.

Believe me I went trough few possible options, (including coilovers) and IMO adding just springs wouldn’t do the job. Also the deal breaker was exceptionally low payment on 2013 almost fully loaded 535I

Msport susp is more than springs - it has different shocks and thicker antiroll bars. Also the steering is tuned differently- u cant turn it with 1 finger like most new bimmers.

Ok it's official. Just got off the phone with the GM at my local dealership. Starting in September the Msport package will include the 704 Msport suspension. He didn't say anything about 2014 models already produced that don't have the 704 suspension. He just said we'll wait till sept to place my order. He didn't say why they changed and will be supplying the 704 starting in September. My GM said he got this info from his ordering rep so I feel it's legit.

This is pretty much confirmed now about the Sept builds having 704.
There is a huge thread over on bimmerfest talking about what Bmw is going to do for cars that finished production by two Bmw dealerships. Supposedly there will be an official memo coming out at some point addressing this. From what i've been told this was a mistake on Bmw's part and I believe the 704 was always suppose to be included with the Msport package. Alan

Well my 2011 M-Sport with my ACS springs did wonders and no where on my window sticker is the M-sport suspension listed --- only adaptive drive. I also can't turn my steering with 1 finger. I don't think they made the steering less tight.

The M-Sport suspension wasn't available on the F10 in the US until 2013.

Why would you assume such an unlikely eventuality? Surely you realize that the company can in NO WAY leave customers in the lurch especially when those ordering earliest are hurt the most. This result could NEVER be seen as fair by the company, its customers, or the automotive press. Are you so out of touch with corporate policy-making that you don't realize the current situation recommends its own resolution simply and absolutely? Jeez, what a moron!

There's WAY more to the M suspension than springs. It's a complete suspension overhaul. Shorter springs on a suspension designed for the base springs would probably ride imbalanced and not right.

The 704 consist of springs, shocks and sway bars. Everything else is the same.
Personally I care less about the springs but I do want the better shocks and sway bars. For the record there are tons of people here with ACS springs and not one of them had anything negative to say. I'm sure the 704 is a great suspension but let's not make it out to be the end of all other suspension systems lol. It maybe the best suspension offer on the F10 but let's face it the car ain't winning any track events or autocross with it. Alan Last edited by Alan l.; 08-15-2013 at 09:09 PM.. |

Yeah, springs, shocks, struts/sway bars. Those other parts go a long way further than what springs simply do of course. What I like about it is that it's factory installed therefore factory balanced and vouched for to not "boom" and bottom out on even very rough patches.
With stiffer/shorter springs alongside the other 704 components you'll have a very sportily riding F10, however I'd wonder how it would handle road impacts.
