N63 Oil Capacity

I just did my first oil change on a 2016 N63TU motor.
Drained what seemed to me like a lot of oil, it almost over filled my plastic oil catch pan, and replaced the filter.
Filled with 8.5 quarts of fresh oil, started the motor to warm up the oil and initiated the oil level check.
It showed being right at the MAX mark of the gauge.
So, it seems that dealers by adding an extra quart overfill it by quite a lot.

Interesting. Because BMW lists N63s' oil capacity to be either 9.5 liters or 10.0 liters depending on the applications
