N63tu DIY INTAKES
I've been working on a DIY front mount Intake solution for these cars that's around 200 ish bucks.
So pay attention..... Your going to need the following. 2x x5.0i intake runners/ turbo inlets. 2 x MAF housing for a Chevy cruise 2x 3in 90degree bends 2x 45 degree bends. 4x straight couplers Not going to give full credit to myself as this wasn't my idea. It's been passed around, but it's time we all HOMEBREW I realize I might get nuked off other forums for this... but that's fine. Here for the PEOPLE. Like I've said a million times. Here's another DIY Calvin Godwin is 100% responsible for this whole effort. |

Piping is the same N63 or N63TU, in the video he is using a JB4 which eliminates the need for a MAF sensor. I did not install a JB4 so I ordered the Cruz Maf holder and the BMW MAF fits perfect. I just finished installing the setup and it is great I used aluminum (2) 12" straight pipes you will need (4) 45 Deg piping (2) Chevy Cruz MAF holders (2) 180 Deg silicon tubing about 12 clamps (2) Filters..... Cost me about $350 for the setup, looks good sounds good

I'm reviving this post because I am in the process of trying this.
First, why are there zero pictures? Only a video, that doesn't quite help us that have to keep the MAFs...Great video, but it leaves out the important MAF. Other than that it's simple. So the turbo intake from an X5 was mentioned. No pictures? I need part numbers so I know what exactly I'm getting. Also, I'm getting mixed numbers on clamps, OD and ID of different hoses. So far the parts list isn't exact. We've had years to figure this out and no real update. So are all the hoses 3" OD or ID? 12 or 16 clamps because he said in the video that he needed 2 extra large clamps, but he shows at least 18 clamps. And someone mentioned you have to shave off 1/2 inches on the cruz MAF inlet so codes don't come up? One person said the X5 intake doesn't work for the driverside. So is this true? It's been a few years, and not much since this thread...Any update on this? Maybe with some pics? Last edited by xlr8tin; 01-31-2024 at 07:27 PM.. |

Found Spooled on YT and watched this video there before I stumbled on this thread.
An update here would be good. Planning to do this as soon as I am certain about part numbers. |
