Hi all, i am getting really fed up with this car.
Been chasing this for so so long.

Mods list as of now
1) Stage 1 hybrid turbo
2) Bar plate IC
3) FTP charge pipe, turbo inlet, boost pipe

Been getting error code #118001 Mixture control : Mixture too lean

Replaced new coils, plugs,, hpfp and 4 new injectors recently

Symptoms :
1) When I restart the car after leaving it park for while (i.e. 2, 3 hours), the car starts fine, then it will shake, rpm dropping to 500rpm as if its dying then it will rev itselfs to about 2k rpm before it settles down. Fuel comsumption was bad too as the car reads itself running lean therefore dumping more fuel.

Driving wise seems ok...

Car was tuned previously, reflash back to stock and stock downpipe went back in.

Smoke test done, no leak detected.
MAF sensor, 02 sensor can be ruled out? Otherwise I will get related code.

Any ideas?

Do you mean the trick where u turn the ignition on, pedal to the floor for 1 min then switch off and wait for 3 mins? If so, ive done that.

Still that mixture control too lean code came on. For the past 100km (10% city, 90% highway), im getting only 22.2 mpg which is bad but is to be expected as the car reads itself running lean and dumping fuel to compensate

Do you have an OBD Scan tool? You will need to measure the adjustments to your fuel trims as they need to be within a certain range. Has your LPFP ever been replaced? Are you putting good fuel and also keep in mind that it could be possibly a dirty Fuel Filter, you can also try a nice Fuel system cleaner for starters.

I only have bimmerlink and I don't think i can see my fuel trim using it but my mechanic should be able to. What should I be looking at btw? Isnt both my long term and short term fuel trim will be off anyways since I'm getting poor comsumption?

Interesting point tho, I havent replaced my LPFP but I'm not getting lpfp related error on bimmerlink only that mixture too lean error

Referenced from X3 Group

If your LTFT increases as the rpms increase, you have a fuel starvation issue
If your LTFT decreases as the rpms increase, you have a vacuum leak
