Adaptive headlight information

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased 1 left adaptive led headlight for my 5 series gt and i have some questions that maybe you could help me figure out.

So, the headlight is US version and the first question would be:

1 what is the difference between US and ECE?
2. if my car is ECE can I mount US headlights?
3. I don't have any ECUs on the headlights and I'm thinking of buying some. do i have to look for US ones or would ECE work?
4. this next one is a bit stupid but i still have to ask, do i need both headlights to be US or can i buy the second one ECE? I'm asking this as i don't know the answer to the first question so I'm thinking that maybe the only difference is in the 4 ECU's on the head lights.
5. do you have any other tips/ useful information for me regarding this topic ?

Thanks in advance and best regard!

ECE headlights are better than US. ECE have better cutoff lines for VLD. If you don't care for them, US headlights will be fine for you.

Thanks for the info, Hoa!

With that in mind, do i need to buy the 4 ECUs for us version or will the ECE ecus work as well?

US headlights typically have different beam patterns and may not meet ECE regulations.
You can mount US headlights on an ECE car, but they may not be compliant.
Look for compatible ECUs regardless of region.
Mixing US and ECE headlights may lead to inconsistencies.
Ensure headlights comply with local regulations for safety and performance.
