Did you replace the valve cover at 216k and then again at 240k?

Yea, somehow the one at 216K was bad from the beginning. It didn't seal well so every time I change oil, I would see it sweat very little at the bottom but not to a point where it would drip. Replaced it again and it's fine until now

This is great to see! Currently coming up to 69k miles on my 2014.
Couple of questions for you... interesting that you had no problems with the water pump/thermostat up to 200k miles (and you changed preventively). I hadn't seen too many cases of sudden failure in 2014+ N55s where people were left stranded. Did you replace any hoses or connectors in the cooling system when doing this? Did the OFHG fail twice? Also, is your engine & transmission stock? Or tuned/upgraded?

OFHG did not fail the first time. It did start to sweat a little the second time. I replaced it early because I travel a lot and it is a high risk item that would cause the belt to pop off and run into the crank which will most likely ruin the engine. |

Did you do the work yourself? If you didn't how much was labor on it I'm feeling kind of stupid for changing only the valve cover gasket at 95,000 miles … maybe I should have changed the valve cover as well… dunno if it's the same labor

I did the work myself. A good mechanic can have it done within one hour. |

Nicely done sir! 300k is quite a milestone.
What procedure do you use to drain/refill the transmission? I would like to do the same as I do not believe in the "lifetime fluid" BS marketing. My car is a diesel but I'm sure the process is the same. Which seats do you have and how are they holding up? |

https://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1701439 My vehicle came with comfort seats originally. I swapped them out at around 270K miles for ventilated seats which is not worth. It is more stiff and I'm too lazy to revert the mod. Original seats are still in very good shape. I would say 9/10. I weigh 145lbs. I don't rub the seat getting in and out so the bolsters are still in good shape. |

Thanks for the link! How much fluid are you getting out without removing the pan?
My car has ventilated seats and I'm considering the swap to comfort-only seats. I LOVE the ventilated feature but the seats are not comfortable. I might try to buy just the parts and make ventilated comfort seats - best of both worlds! |

I've always sought out cars with the naturally aspirated N52 engine as anything turbo scares me, but after reading this, I am officially forced induction curious!
Our F10 has been a bit of a lemon so far, but we think it may finally be getting sorted out! |

Hey man how many miles do you have right now haha
Was wondering you ever changed the transmission fluid? My tuner shop is recommending that I don't change it since it has never been changed and I am already at 105k Miles. Apparently any shavings or what not are probably good for the car at that point and U may be doing more harm than good if I change the transmission fluid. I am MHD stage 2+ tuned and was thinking about doing the transmission fluid change since I want to go XHP stage 3. My car is prob a little different considering I am tuned but am just wondering if you ever messed with bmws "lifetime seal" on their trans fluid for your car

It's maintenance, your not fixing something that's broken.

I have not used the priming procedure. It’s pretty easy to do. I normally pour about a quart into the oil filter housing, soak the filter with oil and then start the car to let it pump oil and far no issues. I know it’s not proper procedure but works for me |

Very impressive and makes me feel very glad and even more reassuring that this is all possible with the N55.
