N63 b4402 or 01
I'm looking at buying a 2016 550ix and am curious if this revision still suffers from alot of the bad things I hear the earlier models do. I have looked but to no avail. Any an all onsite would be much appreciated. Dont know if I should just wait and get an 18 instead.

2016 is an N63tu or N63B44O1
The f10 did not receive the n63tu2 engine, it appeared in the next gen 5 series. Tu2 is too new to really say if it has major durability problems. The tu seems to be much better than the ordinal N63. I can say that mine doesn’t bave plastic hoses over the turbo which embrittle over numerous heat cycles and turn to crap. The 63tu was a significant improvement. Mine runs great. No issues, and I have just performed routine maintenance. Only warranty item was 02 sensor replacement. |

2013 and up 550 BMW have improved lots of things
good luck with hunt I have 2013 550I no major issues number of thing replaced under BMW recall I recently had my upper and lower oil pan gaskets replaced it was covered by warranty

Yes, the 16 750i. The f10 550i never got the 02 or tu2.
The 7 series and next gen 5 series did. The g12/g30. The 7 series started production in 2016. The f10 stopped production October of 2016 and never received the tu2. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N63 If you want a tu2 look for a 2016 750. I see 7 series for reasonable prices. I see 740i 2016 with less than 40k miles for mid 30s |
