Engine oil sensor fail? N57D30B
So yesterday I received "Engine oil level at minimum" error on the iDrive. I have stopped the car and this morning I checked the level with the stick. Everything was fine and I have no oil burn, no oil leak nothing.
How often are the oil sensor failures? Actually can it be something else? |

Glad the engineers included a $5 dipstick on the diesels! (LHS at back of engine)

It's not always about the cost, it's usually about manufacturing. A previous car was sans dipstick because they couldn't install the engine assembly with one. Seems the engine barely fit between the shock towers and a dipstick would have hit the tower.

I would imagine it's not a big deal to change the sensor once the oil is drained, but of course that would depend on how accessible it is. |
