BMW Valvetronic exhaust and downpipe opinion

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for some opinions of people who have a downpipe of their F10 535i. I currently have Valvetronic designs exhaust mufflers and they are great! I am looking to add a catless downpipe but I am worried it will drone with the valves shut! Anyone that has a downpipe and/or an aftermarket exhaust too please chime in.

Thank you,
Evan

I have dual eBay valvetronic-style mufflers on my 535, and I run a catless downpipe. IMO, these mufflers closed are quieter than when I was all stock lol (so to answer your question, no I have no drone at all when valves closed).

Do you have any videos of it valves open and closed? How is the smell of the catless DP?

That is on cold start, cold morning, on the day I picked it up at the shop. Nowadays you can't see the flap because of all the black in there lol. It's on electric motors so it's very fast-reacting.

It stinks if you run full gasoline. But I typically run an E30 fuel mix and corresponding tune. That 30% E content significantly cuts down the stench of gasoline. Still not pleasant as running full E85, but this is a good compromise for me lol
