Hi guys
i just want to ask if anyone can help me to retrofit a m5 cluster to my car
and help me with the coding or give me instructions on how to code it
like this one on the photo

I have both M5 and N20. I did HUD, Shifter and Cluster. I spent like 4 months to figure out. These are the pictures[IMG][/IMG]

If you retrofittted HUD doesn't that mean you would have to change the whole dash ? haha

yeah I think I came across your build. you went all in! like middle console and everything did you not? pretty sick, in my opinion. regardless of what people think!

no, I just coded HUD, replaced Cluster and the shifter

yes, I built a complete M5 in my backyard. Car is for sale for anyone interested !

I have an f25 (2tm 8speed sport tranny) and can pick up an m6 kombi up cheap, any help on how you did this would be great.

I would love to hear more about this too, I’m getting no gear position display at all and transmission error code..

Notice how their photo shows no gear. This is because it is not possible to get gear information on a non-M5 car, as the gear information comes from an entirely different ECU that non-M5 cars don't even have.

I am working on this as we speak, waiting for some harness pigtails to come in to connect additional wires to icm and dme, &dme2.

The problem is not the cluster itself as the wiring to it is the same across the board, it’s the gear shifter and dynamic control board that has to be rewired. I’ve done a lot of research on this and looked at wiring more then I’d like to admit, M5 Cluster is not enough for a fully functioning retrofit. This is where most make a mistake trying to get the cluster to work with some random coding in E-Sue to hide gear shift errors, etc.
will make a post or reply here once I’m done as most people who have tried have either failed or do not respond.

There is a YouTube video of a guy from overseas retrofitting gear shifter and controls but he’s using 6WB cluster not M5 one so no issues there. I don’t see the point of this really without the cluster, but to each their own.

Yep, needs a bunch of wiring work as you mentioned. If you can get the gear information correctly to the cluster, it'll work. That is what I meant, apologies if I was unclear.

You cannot code gears into the cluster to show up, I’ve done extensive work and research and we just don’t have the hardware on non-M models to make that happen.

This requires a physical hardware adapter to get to work.

Do a search on f30 m3/m4 cluster adapter and that’s what you need, it’s about $350.
