Did you try the 4mm Case washer first and the pads wouldn’t fit, or are you measuring to perfect center? On mine the pads BARELY squeezed in with the 4mm washer.

Nice! On my to-do list this year for both our bimmers is a full brake flush.

What pads are you using and how do they feel?

Textar brake pads.
The rear brakes much beter with these bigger rotors. Now not all the weight is on the front anymore.

Do you have the part number for the Powerstop slotted and drilled rotors you have.
I have a set on mine as well, however the top hats are too large and I had to modify my pads to make them work. I would like to find a set of rotors that are drilled and slotted that I can use that won't require modification.
Oh, I have the 374mm pistons.

They are the same rotor you using Grant, i had to trim the outside pads on both sides cause it was hitting the top hat but im just dealing wit the Brembo dust. i couldnt get a tight hole in the 348 PS pads so i stayed wit these.

Are you saying the 348mm caliper pads are not going to work in the 374mm calipers?

They will but i just rather deal with the dust, but the Member i was talking to Grant Gjohnson7 he run 348 Ps pads on his 374 Ps rotors and has a Yt vid on it.

Got it - I had forgotten about that but remembered as soon as I saw the slots extended. Thanks!

Still waiting to see some up-close pics of how this covers the 750 rotor face. I also have concerns about whether the piston will be centered enough to avoid uneven pad wear.

Hopefully there’s lots of feedback about this by the time I’m in need of new rotors because I actually prefer the way the 750 rotor looks with the larger hat.

Also, I find the huge swept area of the 760 rotor gets rusty in winter driving and the reduced pad pressure (same force, larger area) has trouble cleaning the rotors. This could also be the mild natured pads I have… a more aggressive pad might scour the rotor better. I’d be in favor of slightly more dust in exchange for cleaner looking rotors.

I've compensated for that reduced pad pressure by changing to the M5 brake booster and M5 brake cylinder. Pedal feel is at least on par with the stock setup, might be even better. I'm very pleased with the outcome of that.

Using the 760 rotors, Textar brakepads.

I have an M5 booster and master cylinder in the garage, I haven’t had the time to fully investigate the swap. Have you figured out what the differences are between the M5 and the stock F10 setup? The M5 actually has less piston area on the front calipers so I wasn’t sure if maybe the M5 master had less displacemento?

Did you need to change the lines from the master to the distribution block below? The parts diagrams suggest new lines are needed.

So many questions I have! As you can probably tell I got about halfway to getting my research done and haven’t had time since.

How much disassembly was needed under the dash? Any parts required that are not obvious? Any info you can offer would be VERY helpful!

Only one line needs to be replaced

You need to remove the wheel arch trim to get to the distribution block.
Under the dash you need to remove the footwell trim panel and then you see the nuts of the brake booster.

Thanks! Any idea about the bore size of the M5 master cylinder?

Not sure about the difference between the booster, the master is a bit bigger.

ptrkp and I both did the same brake upgrade when it comes to calipers, pads, disc size. In my car we also did the M5 booster and master cilinder and that setup performs even better. Especially when you don't press the pedal hard, the initial bite is better. Not like night/day difference, but noticable.

Only the one that was allready mentioned indeed.

You do your research very thoroughly so I'm interested to see what you can come up with when it comes to data. Your info was helpful to me when I was looking into this upgrade.

Very straightforward job, indeed need to remove the lower trim piece and you can get to the 3 nuts that are holding the booster in place. Also have to disconnect it from the brake pedal, that's one clip. The brakelight switch will probably get out of position, not to worry, you can simply solve that.

I did get a new foam gasket to use inbetween booster and firewall. Taking the master off the booster will make your life a bit easier when installing, we fought mine in as one unit which was a bit of a headache but you can pull it off that way.

Bleeding was done on both cars with the official procedure via ISTA.

Been running G11 Calipers for 3 years

My old post from my F01.

https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/a...#post-13329695

Also used F32 two piston calipers for the rears. No modification there.

I got around to do a brake job today, and again had to modify the brake pads to make them fit. However I did notice on the brembo calipers there are dimples next to the old holes for the pad retainer pins. I think you could redrill those holes so that you can accept different pads. Then you don't have to modify pads to get them to fit. I would only do it if I had the calipers off the car and had a drill press to get the hole perfectly perpendicular.

In addition, I didn't want to shell out $160 for EBC pads so I got these cheap power stop pads for < $50.

If you choose to modify the mounting holes on the pad:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0741RMXM9...roduct_details

If you choose to cut 20mm off the bottom of the pad:
https://www.jegs.com/i/Power-Stop/419/17-1868/10002/-1#

Will see if these dust less.

You don’t need to modify pads if you use 760 rotors. That’s what a lot of us have been using since it’s just a direct bolt on.

So by doing the rear caliper, you give up parking brake?
