Blown Shock?

Hey guys newb question here but do you think my shock is blown? the rear right side is significantly lower than the left. I haven't jacked the car up to look for leaks but i’m assuming it has to be the shock. Is there anything else it could be? also there’s no error codes popping up so i’m guessing it’s not a control module or something like that. Any pointers? looks like a new shock with edc will set me back about 500 shipped plus labor if i don’t wanna figure out how to swap it myself.

The weird part is the car only has 55k miles and was owned by my grandpa before me and i know he didn’t drive it hard.

it’s a 2012 535i with edc. part number for the shock is 37126796860 i believe.

Side note, i got wider wheels in the rear 19x10 compared to stock 19x9 and i never got an alignment after. not sure if that could effect any of this.

Shocks are not involved in ride height to any appreciable amount, the gas pressure although hard to compress by hand off the car when brand new, isn't going to do anything to lift 1000lbs of car at that corner.

Get under and look. Could be a broken spring on the low side, something jamming on the high side.

Inspect the springs or spring shims. Shims are made of rubber and over time, they can deteriorate.

It could be a broken spring. My f10 has had both rear springs replaced in its 70k mile life…. Never heard of a spring breaking before but apparently it’s a thing with the f10.

Take the tire off and take a look around.
