BMW F10 2011, Premium Western Europe, Vin C833341.

worked back in 2019 when last upgraded but now can't get the 1b hex file onto USB drive.

Use same 1B file. It never changes.

with the cic generator it is the wrong code that does not work

Yes, if you have 1B File from Head Unit.

No. That works only for CIC Head Unit.

No need to search anything beyond car's iDrive. If your current installed map is PREMIUM, then it is CIC Head Unit. If it is MOVE Map, then it is HU_CHAMP2 Head Unit.

They are all head units, whether they have Nav or not, and CHAMP2 Head Unit is also a "Nav Unit" and it runs MOVE Map. CHAMP2 Head Unit is 606 Business Navigation Option whereas CIC Head Unit is 609 Professional Navigation Option.

It's vey simple. As I wore above, if your current installed map is PREMIUM, then it is CIC Head Unit. If it is MOVE Map, then it is CHAMP2 Head Unit.

Just check your iDrive for current installed map version, or post last 7 of your VIN, and I'll tell you what head unit it is.
