Scratch Removal
Look what I found at Auto Zone. I had been practicing on my '04 Dodge Ram.
Do not use 1500 grit sanding sheets unless you are a glutton for punishment. All those compounds and polishes that say they remove up to 1500 grit...I say b*&%Sh#t. Maybe if you use a rotary with wool. I followed with 2000 and 3000 and still had work. Overall though my results were great. Truck had a ton of scratches. I'm about confident enough to step up to the Bimmer Last edited by 740boy; 05-27-2017 at 02:08 PM.. |

Yes i used a DA, Meguiar's, Griots, and PC. I broke out the yellow pad but that was too extreme. I first tried Menzerma 400 still could see fine sanding marks. Went from there to M105 and finally what I call rocks in a bottle...M100. The M100 with orange pad did the trick. Followed with M205...lovely.

Red pad? Aren't those typically used for sealants (no cut)? Griots BOSS Correcting Cream is good stuff though. Use that or Menzerna.
