Lowering Springs
Made an inquiry from a local vendor for H&R springs, the price is HK$3,500 with labor.
Any thoughts? The ACS springs that ksquare installed from BMWHK is a real deal with warranty. However has to wait for 6 months out of jail period. H&R will give a ~1.3" drop while ACS ~1". My preference is a lower drop, the wheel gap now is really sitting high in my eyes. Kinda SUV like. |

3500HKD is not bad considering its about 500USD installed.
i know the springs itself is about 200USD to 250USD, according to what i heard, the rear suspension on the F10 is alot more complicated than before and i have got quoted 300 to install them here in Southern California. But because my car was going to SEMA so i got mad hooked up by Trinity Motorsport here in OC. so I would say 500 is reasonable especially your in asia as well the price should be a little more expensive

RC3, i'm planning also for the spring.
Since our cars are brand new. lets stick with BMW for now. I' don't mind the extra $1K+ for the taxes and you can have it straight away. I think Ksquare mention $2k+ for the spring and another $2k for labour. so around $6K with warranty. |

I will definitely go for the ACS even if it is $6k with tax. However, the ACS still seems a bit high after dropping. The H&R as seem installed by other members here is more my liking. Wish that BMWHK can retrofit other springs of lower drop with warranty. |

as much as i want to, you loose the ebrake regardless because there is no way around it right now unless you add an extra caliper for the ebrake. according to brembo, on the 528 and 535 the ebrake is built in on the rear calipers, so if we install the rear GT kit, we loose the ebrake, and its the same thing for the audis out there, thats why you see the new audis all only have the front bbks unless they dont care about the e-brake. i am still debating if i can stand losing the e brake my mod bug is telling me since my cars an automatic and i dont really need the e brake anyways, and i really would like to complete the look so i should just install them hahahhaha decisions.

may be later, my car is only 2 weeks old. let it grow a little bit before the switch.
later if i want to switch, i have to sneak out to get it done. otherwise my CFO (wife) will not approve. just tell her the car is getting old and springs will get lower.

if it is, then only need 2 springs for the fronts. installation cost should be the same as f07. i will confirm with my service advisor and get back to you guys. For the cost of the ACS springs, you can actually verify by getting quotes from outside (pyramid). intuitively it doesn't sound right. i got quoted about 2+k for the eibach springs, which is similar to the ACS i bought. |

F10 suspension should be different from F07. Checked ACS, H&R, RD & etc. they all need 4 springs. That's why it costs more to retrofit F10 at BMWHK.

i have checked the hamann and ACS websites. there are 2 options for the f10. one is 2 springs (for cars with self levelling system) and the other is 4 springs (for cars without the self levelling system).
I checked the bmw international website and it mentions that the 5 series does come with the self levelling system. Probably need to check with bmwhk to clarify this. One question, after you lock the car, does it sometimes let out a hiss sound and the rear of the car drops a bit? if it does, then for sure it has the self levelling system. i understand its confusing at times whether 2 springs or 4 are needed. i had to do quite a bit of research and also asked bmw several times (and i got different answers from them!) before i actually got the right answer. |

Im just guessing here but i have not heard anything about f10 being self leveling.. i think its an option for 7series and on the phantom..
The 5 series springs+shocks are standard issue according to realoem, nothing about self-leveling/air suspension anywhere ... ? ksquare got a good deal on the ACS springs .. i think ACS should be more expensive than eibach/H&R springs as they are 'branded' |

Only two spring is needed if you have Adaptive Drive, only change the front two springs and computer re-programmed rear suspension.
For cars without Adaptive Drive, will have to change all four springs. Maybe thats why the price is 2X.. |

no adaptive drive for me, so 4 springs are what i need. also checked RD's website, seems like there are no springs for 528i, only for 535i and 550i.

Thanks ksquare for your clarification. I just talked to service guy of BMWHK and he said my GT does not have self levelling system. It is quite confusing. Pls PM me whom I should contact BMWHK to confirm. Maybe the guy I dealed with is not knowlegable enough.
