How did you find that. I'm waiting for my F10 as well. BMW website still shows status as production ends. Do they tell you the ship name when it gets shipped. Thanks

Unless they've updated their system, mine showed end of production and didn't really show it was shipped until after it was in the states. Then, I finally got it, and eventually, days later, it showed it as completed...you need to check with your dealer...they can look up the info on a different server that is much more up to date. They knew days before it showed on the customer status site that it was shipped.
Why they can't use the same updated info, is beyond me, but it's lousy! |

ksqrd, excellent! I was trying to figure out where the car will get out. I am in Florida as well. Apparently it is headed to Baltimore (first?).
Check out this link: http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/def...0&type_color=7 You will thank me! |

So, considering that the ship will be docking first in Baltimore on the 16th, what do you think is the ETA before we receive the car at our dealers in Florida?

It is my understanding that the cars must be quarantined for a couple of days to be EPA certified before they're released from port. From there, I assume the cars will be railroaded to their respective destinations. Baltimore on the 16th...release on 18th or 19th, arrival on 20th or 21st. That's my best estimation as the cars will most likely spend a day or two in transit to the dealers once they get their EPA certifications.
EPA sucks btw.

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=680284 As you've realized, most ships at sea (including ours) don't report location info in the Atlantic, as AIS systems work 30-50 miles from shore. Once there that website should work. There is actually in iOS app called MarineTraffic that allows you to add a ship to your fleet and get up to date info. Also, my understanding is that FL bimmers leave the ship at Brunswick, GA and not Baltimore. Since this ship gets to Brunswick on 9/19, I'm hoping to take delivery here in the Miami are on 9/25, if I'm lucky. |

Not sure if you guys are still monitoring this thread but I was elated to see Euphrates Highway reappear last night in US coastal waters, and is now docked in Baltimore.
I'm happy that she is on track for Brunswick on 9/19 I'm and still hoping for delivery in Miami on the 25th.

Great news! I guess then I will be picking mine up on the 25th as well!
Anything I should tell my dealer before they take it, and before I take delivery of it? |

I told them I didn't want a front license plate holder and that I wanted Auto Start/Stop coded to "last used" but otherwise no other special requests. Are you in South Florida?

Yup, I am in Broward.
Interesting choice regarding the coding, perhaps I will do the same. I will also be telling them to hold off on putting in the front plate, not to put any dealer logos on, no pin stripe, and to not wash the car (as I got jet black). What do you think the ETA will be - end of this week, or early next week? |

Definitely tell them about the front plate...or they will drill the bumper. South Motors, where I purchased, apparently routinely avoid the front plate. I also specified no dealer logos, etc. Why no wash--won't there be some dust from transit? I'm guessing early next week. I'm still planning on arranging pickup the 25th for my own logistic reasons, assuming everything stays on track. Are you planning on tinting your car? I'm considering a moderate ceramic tint for heat, mainly. If so, any ideas about a shop?

I don't want them to wash the car because they likely towel dry. Since I got the jet black, I don't want to start out with swirls in the clear coat from all of the bits of residue in their towels. I am going to have the dealer tint the windows. I would like the tint to be dark. Apparently, they only tint the windows to the legal limit, so that is what they will do. According to my rep, the front and back side windows both do not come with any tint on them so there is no need to compensate the front to be the same darkness as the back and vice versa. So I will essentially be using the same 28% tint on all windows, including the stripe down to the AS1 line on the windshield. I haven't given any thought about ceramic versus metallic tint. Ceramic is more heat resistant? I want to be sure that the tint looks as black as possible to match the paint of the car, I do not want any reflectivity to it. |

Well folks, I called the shipping company today (K-Line), the Euphrates Highway is stalled off the coast due to the bad weather. She will not be docking today (Sept. 18th). Maybe tomorrow :-(.. I hope that our cars can handle the rough seas :-)... I can't stand this wait.... I will definitely not be doing a custom delivery next time... not worth the agony ... hahahah ... ahhh who am I kidding.. I am sure it is worth the wait.
FYI .. waiting on a 2013 AW E92 M3, with all the bells and whistles. |

@Ditrasetman: I'm also now considering avoiding the wash, and am considering having OptiClear applied by a detailer, who also strongly suggested not letting them touch the paint or wash the car on arrival. My understanding is that the ceramic tints are more expensive but are great at heat reduction. They are often less dark, which is what I'm after but clearly not the look you're seeking. I would appreciate hearing how much they are quoting for standard tint.

An Update:
The Euphrates Highway docked in Brunswick, GA at 11:52pm on Sept. 18th. It left the ports at 5:50am on Sept. 19th for Charleston... So our cars are now on American soil .. and headed to the VDC !!! I got this info from Kline themselves. The ship's AIS is not working on any of the major tracking sites (marinetraffic.com, fleetmon.com, etc..) Last edited by DominionXX; 09-19-2012 at 11:23 AM..
